The rhetoric becomes reality for the No Child Left Behind

The No Child Left Behind Act certainly had an objective ambitious. He demanded that all students tested in reading and math to reach grade level by 2014.

Six years ago, when the law was passed, almost no one believes that this level of success was realistic. However, despite the absence of reality, the law was passed by Congress sanctions for school systems that fail to make adequate yearly progress in achieving this goal in 2014, sanctions which cost millions of dollars and the result of the acquisition of school.

However, the law has a politically correct title and the political could not vote to raise a child to leave behind. Therefore, the law was position adopted by the fantasy, but with a measure of success has been beyond the outer limits of reality.

Without doubt, changes proposed law will be necessary for its reauthorization will focus on areas of controversy following:

1. How can the law be amended to against the metric known as Adequate Yearly Progress? This method of measuring student and school performance has been described by many as "too rigid too arbitrary and too punitive. "It's hard to find someone who truly believes in the power measurement objectives and the time is believed to be realistic too.

2. Everyone wants to improve teacher salaries and training. That this should be done with a kind of "pay for performance" plan will be discussed seriously.

3. Many people say that national standards and testing program. While there appears that Congress is ready for this change, will be discussed.

4. Since No Child Left Behind Act has not been adequately funded by Congress, the amount of money for education programs from the federal government is certainly an important issue for the next Congress to consider.

5. Many people have expressed concern that the test prescribed in language arts and math has caused schools to spend less time and effort in the areas of other programs as well as longer and fresh students prepared to spend mandatory testing.

As a new school year begins in the United States in the fall, the presidential candidates should be asked the necessary questions to determine your specific vision of the American system of education of the future. The voters and the national media should insist that each of them offers a training plan specific and detailed.

It is time for presidential candidates and Congress politicians who propose creative solutions to solve or eliminate the current educational system. Suite political rhetoric on the issue is not sufficient. In fact, political rhetoric has already met with the outer limits tangible reality of the Act of 2002 known as Landmark Education federal No Child Left Behind. "
