Berthe Morisot
Education
Berthe Morisot, The Cradle, 1872, Muse d'Orsay
Morisot was born in Bourges, Cher, a bourgeois family in France of success. She and her sister Edma Morisot chose to become a painter. Once Berthe Morisot settled on pursuing art, her family was no obstacle to his career.
She was born into a family that, according to family tradition, had included one of the most prolific Rococo painters of the Old Regime Fragonard, whose handling, of course, color and expressive brushwork influenced later painters. At the age of twenty, he had met and befriended important landscape painter of the essential and the Barbizon School, Camille Corot, who excelled in painting and illustration.
The artist responsible for most of Berthe and his sister in painting and introduced them to other artists and teachers. Under Corot's influence, Morisot took the form of working outdoors. As art students, Berthe and Edma worked closely together until Edma married, had children, and no longer had time to paint so intensely as Berthe. Letters between them show a loving relationship and warm, underscored by Berthe regret the distance between them and the withdrawal of painting Edma. Edma full support to the ongoing work of Berthe and families of the two sisters always remained nearby.
Manet and impressionism

Morisot's first appearance in the Salon de Paris came at the age of twenty-three in 1864, with the acceptance of two landscape paintings. She continued to show at the Salon, to generally favorable review until 1873, year before the first Impressionist exhibition.

Meanwhile, in 1868, Morisot met Edouard Manet. He took a special interest in Morisot, as evidenced by their warm portrait of several tables, including a striking portrait study of Morisot in a black veil, while mourning the death of his father (shown at the top of the article). The correspondence between them shows of affection. Once he gave her an easel as a gift Christmas. He also starred in one of his observations Lounge when he was hired for transport. Manet mistook one of Morisot's self-criticisms as an invitation to Add your corrections, which he did, to the chagrin of Morisot.
Although traditionally Manet has been associated as master and the disciple whom Morisot, it is obvious that their relationship was reciprocity. Morisot had developed her own distinctive artistic style. Records show the paintings of Manet's approval and appreciation of style decisions and the mixture about the origin Morisot. Incorporated some of these features in your own work.

Was Morisot who convinced the teacher of painting outdoors, I had been practicing since it was introduced by Corot.
He also noted Manet in the circle of painters who soon became known as the Impressionists. In 1874, Morisot married Eugene Manet's brother, and had a daughter, Julie. Julie Manet was subject of many paintings of his mother and a book of her memoirs Growing Up with the Impressionists: The Diary of Julie Manet, was published in 1987.
Doctrinaire Impressionist as well as a member of the haute bourgeoisie, Morisot painted what she experienced on a daily basis. His paintings reflect the 19th century cultural restrictions of her class and gender. She avoided urban and street scenes and nudity, and, like their female colleagues Impressionist Mary Cassatt, focused on domestic life and portraits that could be use family and personal friends as models. Paintings such as the birthplace (1872), which describes current trends in children's furniture reflect her sensitivity to fashion and advertising, which would have been obvious to the female audience.
His works are landscapes, not only, portraits, garden scenes and settings of navigation but also topics that represent the comfort and privacy of the family and domestic life like his colleagues, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Mary Cassatt.
Berthe Morisot died March 2, 1895 in Paris and was buried in the cemetery of Passy.
