how to clean wood walls?

husband and I are renovating old house. We wanted to restore as close to original as possible therefore have created walls of rough cut wood. They are beautiful, but because they are raw and unfinished, I have no idea how to clean them. All I'll soak them right on wood, I do not want just a horrible smell clean stuck on the walls forever. I thought of scented wood polish spray of lemon or maybe a fine water mist and vinegar over them and let evaporate. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm trying to prepare to be stuck at home all winter and do not want to see the dirty walls. Thanks

You say that the rough cut wood. If you put something in your base oil penetrate the wood and therefore can interfere with staining or painting in the future. Most wood products of oil in them, as Murphy Oil, varnishes for wood, etc. If this is the case you take the hot water and soap and clean and air dry. Something like a soap-sensitive work. It also does not leave much of a smell and certainly not not notice.
