How chocolate whoopie pies at home
Achieving Whoopie Pies has been a tradition in Pennsylvania for many years and is common in communities Amish and Mennonites. If you have never tried a house Whoopie Pie, you are truly lost.
Whoopie Pie What you may ask? Basically, there are two mounds round chocolate cake and sandwiched between these cakes, ice cream Vanilla is delicious.
The following recipe gave me support in late 1980 by a local woman Mennonite and this day is our favorite recipe.
Chocolate Whoopie Pies
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 / 2 cup cocoa powder
1 / 2 teaspoon table salt
1 / 2 cup teaspoon baking powder
1 / 4 teaspoon baking soda
1 / 2 pound butter, softened (divided)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (divided)
3 / 4 cup cold milk
sugar 1 / 2 cup confectioners'
1 cup marshmallow cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda aside. In another large bowl, combine softened 1 / 4 pound of butter and granulated sugar y. With an electric mixer, beat until smooth and creamy. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and beat for an additional 30 seconds. Stir the flour mixture and beat again until all ingredients are combined.
Drop by large spoonfuls filled in an ungreased baking sheet, about 4 "apart. Using a spoon, spread each mound of dough into a circle about 2 1 / 2 inches in diameter. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the mini cakes to recover when touched.
While your mini cakes are baked in a bowl , whisk the remaining quarter pound of butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Whip cream until filling is slightly marshmallow and fluffy.
Once your mini cakes are cooled, spread half the filling over the cake, then top with half empty. (Just like a cookie sandwich.) Keep your home candy in an airtight container.
